Segovia Cultural Volunteer platform: further, higher, stronger

The well over 300 volunteeratics from Segovia Cultural Volunteer platform continue to be unstoppable. The work carried out by this group of highly motivated people with the only objective of creating through culture a platform of volunteers to perform and support all kinds of cultural events without any other interest but the events themselves.

The volunteer group is an offspring of the office of Segovia 2016. For them, moving about and using new technologies and social networks such as YouTube is the norm. They figured that there wasn’t a better way to show what they do so they made a film. With the support of the European Candidacy for Culture and their own means they created, filmed and edited a promotional video with the theme: “Culture begins with you”. It explains what being a volunteeratics (volunteer) means to them, contributing to support, help discover, or being part of a group. In a nutshell, it’s a way of being, of belonging, so they said. The video also explains what this platform is about and their objectives.

The video was presented last Thursday, May 26th in a volunteer’s encounter organized by the Segovia 2016 Office to recognize the support that they offer to the many activities which are held in Segovia throughout the year and to present the future of the platform as a self sustained association in which the volunteers would be responsible of all the relations with the different organizers of cultural events as well as with other cultural volunteer platforms at a European level. The volunteers showed their predisposition to work towards these objectives. The encounter was held in Bar Ópera de Segovia.
